Raufoss Super 12 Shotgun Cartridge

This cartridge is a 12-gauge shotgun shell manufactured under the Raufoss Super 12 brand. The dark printed casing bears the inscription “Rottweil-Pulver,” referring to the smokeless powder used as the propellant. Such cartridges were commonly used for hunting and sporting activities.

The cartridge consists of a printed paper casing attached to a metal base. Over time, exposure to moisture and environmental conditions has resulted in significant corrosion and rusting of the metal component. The casing also shows signs of aging, including surface staining, discoloration, scratches, and fading of the printed markings. Despite this deterioration, portions of the manufacturer’s markings remain legible, preserving valuable information about the cartridge’s origin and manufacture.
