The staff of the Wangduechhoeling Palace Museum and Cultural Centre (WPMCC) had the privilege of participating in a two-day workshop led by Dr. Françoise Pommaret (Aum Tashi) on 6–7 May 2026.

Drawing from over four decades of research and writings on Bhutan, Aum generously shared invaluable insights on presenting the museum and its collections to visitors, particularly foreign guests, and provided pointers and thoughtful feedback on our interpretive texts and labels.

The workshop also included engaging and insightful talks on the maternal inheritance system, wall painting and iconography of Lingka Lhakhang, and the important role of the Royal Ladies of Bhutan.
We are deeply grateful to Aum for so generously sharing her time, knowledge, and expertise with the WPMCC team.

We were also pleased to be joined by Aum Nancy Strickland the former Executive Director of Bhutan Canada Foundation, someone who has herself worked and lived in Bhutan for over 4 decades and now calls Bhutan her home.
