Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuck’s Namza

In a simple yet solemn ceremony yesterday, we had the great honour of receiving a priceless artifact – the namza gho of His Majesty Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuck, the First Druk Gyalpo – as a donation from the Jigme Namgyel Naktshang in Kurtoe Dungkar, Lhuentse.

The namza was formally offered by Dasho Dzongda of Lhuentse on behalf of the Dzongkhag and local leaders, in the presence of Dasho Dzongda of Bumthang, who also serves on the Board of the Wangduechhoeling Palace Museum and Cultural Centre. Also in attendance were the Lam of Wangduechhoeling, Dasho Dzongrab of Bumthang, and the staff of the Wangduechhoeling Palace Museum and Cultural Centre.

We would like to heartily thank Dasho Dzongda of Lhuentse Dzongkhag Administration for this kind gesture and for taking the initiative to present such a treasured artifact to the WPMCC. We are deeply grateful for this meaningful offering which enriches our growing collection and strengthens our shared commitment to preserving Bhutan’s royal legacy.
