Finding Us in Bumthang
By Air
Bathpalathang Airport (Bumthang) is the nearest domestic airport, served by Druk Air from Paro. The museum is a 10-minute drive from the airstrip.
By Road
Bumthang is approximately 6 hours from Thimphu via the lateral highway. Taxis and tourist vehicles available from Jakar town centre — 5 minutes away.
From Jakar town
Follow the main road north past the dzong. We are signed from the central junction. Parking available on-site for cars and minibuses.
On foot
A 20-minute walk from Jakar Bazaar along a flat, paved path. Scenic route passing the Chamkhar Chhu river is well marked.
Eat & Shop
Museum shop with handwoven textiles, local crafts, and catalogues. Café serving butter tea, Bhutanese snacks, and light refreshments.
Accessibility
